It's important to get on well with your instructor, as you're going to be spending a lot of time with them! Most of the time you won't know if you click until you've had your first lesson, so we recommend that to start with you book just 1 lesson and see how you get on.

How many lessons will I need?

There's no minimum number of hours required before taking your test, but the DVSA recommends 45 hours with an instructor, plus another 22 of practice with a friend or family member to really get comfortable with driving. Once you've started learning, your instructor will be able to give you more of an idea on how many hours you'll need.
